Web Conferencing Tutorials

You may be looking for a synchronous way to communicate with your students online. Luckily, there are many different tools available for web conferencing, which make real-time communication with students easy.

Zoom Web and Video Conferencing

Zoom is a cloud video conferencing solution which WSU Global Campus is currently piloting. Zoom provides HD video and voice, and dual-screen content sharing on a variety of devices, including desktop, tablet, and mobile. Zoom is available to faculty in 40 minute durations, and may best be utilized in place of, or in addition to, traditional web conferencing or video conferencing tools.

WSU faculty interested in learning more about Zoom can contact us at online.computing@wsu.edu.

Also visit the Zoom YouTube channel.

Blackboard Collaborate

Right now, WSU has a license with Blackboard Collaborate. You can create and access Blackboard Collaborate through your online course space at any time. In addition to the resources below, we also offer Blackboard training.

"I have more interaction with students because they’re online. In a distance course, each student must talk in order to be recognized. They must post to the discussion board. I get to read their thoughts and their impressions of the course and of other people’s comments."
