Engaging Students

One of the most widespread misconceptions about teaching with technology is that it can be less engaging for students. Research shows that technology enhances student engagement, improves learning outcomes and increases student satisfaction. How can this be?

The use of teams, peer feedback, wikis, blogs, discussion facilitation, and other idea-sharing tools allows students to discuss topics in ways that might not be feasible in the traditional classroom.

"My on-campus students do not tell me anywhere near the same amount of personal information that my distance students do. I have more interaction with my distance students than I do with my on-campus students."
