Large Enrollment Courses
Keeping students engaged in courses with large enrollments is one of the
most challenging endeavors for instructors. Traditional lectures are ineffective.
With limited time to interact with students, instructors must consider using technology
to bring a sense of community to the classroom. Additionally, managing a large enrollment
course (e.g., grading, responding to questions) can be taxing.
Use the links on the left to find strategies and resources for designing instruction that students
will find engaging (Engage Students) without increasing your work load (Teach More Efficiently).
In addition, the Office of Assessment for Teaching and Learning has put together
a list of resources.
